This true life-story is a funny and heart-touching tale. The audience will question the choices a family makes in their own journey of confronting fears, enduring pain, and facing shattered dreams as they finally embrace their destiny.

This one woman performance based on characters from Katori’s family, is underscored by two dancers and two live musicians.

About Katori....

A spoken word and visual artist, Katori has performed at various art events and acted in two plays. A comedy called The Kitchen Sink and an off-off Broadway drama called Cherish Every Precious Moment. Her style is dramatic, humorous, playful, and eccentric. This is Katori's fifth project with director Mara Mills.  Their most recent collaboration was Earth Mother, written and performed by Katori for "Incite the Vote", an event created by the Art and Activism committee. Mara last directed Katori and her husband Evan Walker in I am Dust Motes in Sunshine written by Bob Zaslow for Writing the Wall, a program at HVMoCA. As part of the celebration in 2017 for Women's Suffrage, Mara, Katori and Evan collaborated on a piece written and performed by Katori, accompanied by Evan on drum, at the opening of the Hip Hop Suffragettes exhibit created by Isis Kenney at HVMoCA.  AJUMA is a natural outgrowth of  this collaboration.
