Poetry as Film
Poem and video: Loretta Oleck
Editor: Linton Suttner
In these times of unparalleled uncertainty, isolation and darkness, creating and viewing art continues to provide powerful nourishment and a sense of connection between individual and community.
Loretta Oleck is an author of advocacy journalism, three poetry books, five books in the field of mental health, and co-creator of a full-length documentary. She is a Pushcart Poetry Prize nominee with poetry and photography published in reviews and journals worldwide. Her full-length play, Paper Chains, is to be included in the Up Theater’s Renewal Reading series. In her psychotherapy practice, Oleck is a witness and ally to those suffering from the heavy toll that quarantine and COVID-19 has inflicted. On a lighter note, she is co-owner of Muddy Water, a great little coffeehouse in Tarrytown.
