Selected by the STIE Readers’ Committee are eight plays that reflect the softer side of human interactions from birth to death will go into performance March weekends in 2027 beginning March 5th with rehearsals in January. Artistic Director Mills said, “Last season, both in original work and our Pride collaboration in June 2026 with Normal Heart looked at the harsher side of our world view. We decided to choose plays that would continue to look at our world with more intimate and softer examinations of rites of passage. The title of this season’s choices was also influenced by sculpture by artist Carla Rae Johnson of Peekskill, which will grace the stage for the production.”
STIE, which his housed with Hudson Valley MOCA annually uses work in HVMOCA exhibits as inspiration for production with poets and playwrights. Other collaborations bring individual work by local artists in as part of stage design.
